well HK for the most part (around 3months in the summer), but i have been known to take occassional trips into the mainland.
but only in the south.. places like guangzhou.

mmm you should try to go to yangshuo, which is near guilin. it's a cool little town. what're you doing in HK? (i personally dind't like it as much as the mainland, but that's just me.)

i used to live there for about 7 years while it was under british rule. I went to a british secondary school there..
(and i'm semi fluent in cantonese)
But yeah, I can see why you wouldn't like it as much..there are aspects i don't particularly like either.
The people aren't nearly as friendly..

But the shopping and public transport is superb.
I'm a member of a country club there; I plan to get some exercise and spend some green.

oooh. a country club. yeah... you have to have money to enjoy HK i think. I was broke by the time I got there and used to spending like $5 a day.

I just found out where yangshou is. It doesn't look too far away, so it's a possibility.
Have you learnt any mandarin? I took a class once, but i suck.

I know how to say "you are a teacher and I am a student", and "greetings" (ni hao), but that's about it.
