what's the best way to make XL shirts into tank tops and other small shirts?

i've cut up about 2 so far and nothing good comes out

i like the pantera shirt d'arcy had on the arising tour

well 3 of my SP shirts i took to the taylor and they made them small

everyone always asks me how i got them to be so form fitting....taylor my friend!

but i wanna do some my own and like that

chalk outline where you want the cuts. use a scissor and cut the shirt about 1/2 inch wider than you have the chalk. try and keep the edges straight, but it doesnt need to be perfect. sew a hem all around where you've cut, and you're done.

ok that sounds good...but what about cutting a bit then tearing off the fabric? i've heard it looks really ncie like that

You could try it, but chances are you wont get the tears like you want them, and they'll be uneven. If you want it to look like a shirt that's intentionally torn, then go that route. If you want it to look more like it was meant to be the way you altered it, hem it.
