i wake up this morning and i go to my car and i open up the door and what do i see? guess.

dash torn apart. stereo missing. worst of all, my bag with all my school books in it is missing. and my notes. oh, and my cds. i didn't even think of them at first. they're gone.

at least my parking pass and k-tag were in there. oh, and in a bag in the backseat i had my minidisc recorder and my mics. i was sure they'd be stolen, but they were still sitting there in the bag. so that's good.

i'm so sorry
last week they broke into 3 cars in the parking lot of my building.....so from that day on i decided to leave everything out of site...and take everything out of the car, including stuff in the trunk. one of the cars they broke into was empty, and they even opened the trunk (which was empty as well) and stole the spare tire. jerks.
so i had to take all my shit out, including my bass amplifier which usually rides arounf with me cos it's to heavy to carry from my house to car to rehearsal each day

so did they break the window? or fucked the door latch?
im so sorry to hear this, but now you should stop leaving stuff lying around

no. i'm not sure how they got in. it's possible i forgot to lock one of the doors. i have no way of remembering for sure. the window was down some, but i didn't leave the window down. it's a manual window, so they might have pulled it down somehow. who knows. i wish i had automatic locks.

Sorry to hear that, it's happened to me in the past as well so I know the feeling.

The apartment building I'm at is in a good area but there are a lot of low-lifes still lurking around breaking into cars. About 3 weeks ago these guys broke into a total of like 12 cars in the underground garages where I am including my car.

Fortunately all they stold was a Flash light and 6 burned cds..... hardly worth the effort of picking the locks on my car I think.

Some other guy that parks about 5 spots over from me had about $4000 in audio equipment stolen, and they bent his door frames to get it. I don't understand why they didn't just break the windows. Poor guy, at least he had them insured.

Irrelevant, automatic locks mean nothing really. They can still pick the locks fairly easily. If they really want something in your car then they will find a way.

yeah. but i might have forgotten to lock one of the doors. it would be easier for me to remember if i had automatic locks. i grew up in a town where i didn't lock my car doors at all. or even the house. probably should though.

car break-ins sure happen a lot. everyone i know who lives in a city has had their cds and stereo stolen at least once.

I purposefully have never installed any decent stereo in my car for this reason, I only listen to FM when I'm driving, too many of my mates' cds/audio equipment has been stolen in the past

ugh. that sucks. i had my car stereo stolen this past summer. along with about 15 CDs. and i had a VCR in the back seat that went untouched. go figure.
