I just realized how good it is to have attempts at intelligent discussion on this board. We may not agree on everything, but I hope at the end of the day we're all learning a little from the mountains of crap posted here daily. Now someone steal the group hug gif from blamo, I can't be bothered

Yeah ... I have to say that with a few exceptions ... I have found that I am learning a fair bit and thinking about things from angles which I had not considered before.

Particular thanks to Debaser for providing some of the staunchest and most convincing pro-war arguments I have read.

Here's my 2 cents..

The forum is strongly slanted to the left (not that there's anything wrong with that, it just seems to be).
About half of the posters on both sides are complete idiots with absolutely no facts to back up their claims.
Many of the "independent" articles posted are nothing but propaganda. Luckily, this usually gets pointed out.
While I usually agree with Debaser and disagree with DeviousJ, they both present rational and viable arguments for their positions (just examples of those who aren't assholes, there are others).
Many posters (like hupette gros and Donkey) are nothing more than propaganda hounds, willing to believe any scrap of info that seems to defend their positions without checking facts.

I try not to get personal with my attacks unless the person is a complete tool. I'll attack an opinion or a position, but as long as you bring a valid argument.. well, bring it on.

hahaha so reporting thoughts of people INVOLVED in the region and knowing the reel stakes is propaganda.
you know where i live? i live in the residences of McGill University. I live with dozens of americans, arabs, muslims, french, germans, canadians and dozen more from the rest of the world. Over here i'd say that 5% or less of the people support war. Why? Because we can deal with a lot of informations from several places and filter it to create our own opinions. No fox news, no CNN, no Al Jazeera.

I wouldn't say they are propaganda hounds. I would say the average reader of the war boards does absolutely zero research into why they believe what they believe. At least us "propaganda hounds" try to seek out the truth and do some reading on the subject matter. One man's propaganda is another man's truth.
