Can't think of anyone else Billy would sing this too. It fits so well into what we know about them. Not that I care that much, though.

It's one of my favorites of Zeitgeist, btw. This album took me by surprise a couple of times after just listening to Doomsday Clock and Tarantula.

It's about Paris. Billy played it for her when at the photo shoot and then when she was incarcerated she would sing it to herself and Billy's love helped get her through.

Billy often enough said that he loved Courtney. It might be about survival in the business. And let me go out on a limb and say that in these lines, Billy inklewded a Kurt reference:

i think Thats the Way is a song for fans, about how Billy may not be there physically for you, but his music is always there for you, and his music is his love so that whenever the world mistreats you or rejects you, you can just go listen to some pumpkins and not feel so alone and feel loved, because Billy makes this music for us and it is there for us when we need it...

Look, a lot of us do stupid things for people of the opposite gender that are simply terrible for our health, and this is obviously no exception. That's how I always felt about it... I never thought that was Billy's intentions when writing it, but that's the way I felt when I heard it. Kinda like "Stumbleine," only way way different.
