Well, Netphoria - it's that time. My Final Post...

To the Netphoria homies:

It's that time, folks. As I posted a few months ago... soon I'll be leaving on my mission for the Mormon Church.

[insert 3 pages of anti-Mormon propaganda and bickering here]

In case any of you missed it, I'm going to Rapid City, South Dakota for two years. During that time, I won't be posting on here... and when I come home, who knows where the wind will take me. 20 bucks says I'll end up right back here, though.

It's been real. I've met some interesting folks, had some great chats, and have spent WAY too much time on here just like the rest of you, who have come to know and love Netphoria as a great way to avoid work, homework, sports, education, brain stimulation, your boss, the real world, the fact that you're at home on a saturday night (case in point), and any of the other 1000's of otherwise great things that Netphoria makes you forget about and ignore.

You all have been so supportive of Jenny and I (Marmeladov) and have always poked fun at our annoying and cornball matching Russian usernames. In case you've always been curious about our relationship - we met on Siva chat about 3 years ago now... and have successfully breached the "online ---> real life" relationship gap. We're planning on getting married when I return home in about 2 years. What a gal, eh? Waiting two years for a nutbar like me.

If any of you would actually like to continue talking to me while I'm gone - a letter, a postcard, anything like that would be beyond awesome - then please email me. The address is Rocketnino@byu.edu and I'll be happy to hook you up with an address at which to write me.

I guess my final words are these - if I've ever offended any of you, I'm sorry. I've always tried to be a nice guy, but lashing out is kinda easy, especially on a messageboard.

You're not judge and jury of which actions merit worthiness and which ones don't. I'm not saying you can't disagree, but countless others will find some degree of worth in what he's doing on his trip, and even if you think every last one of them is wrong, there's still more nobility in fervently dedicating your life to something wrong than there is in sitting on your ass and posting at Netphoria.

you didn't qualify that in your original statement.

i don't see how religion is necessarily more harmful than white supremecy. the latter is more hateful and violent, yes, but the bible villifies homosexuality all the same, among other things such as paganism and feminism. either one calls for the erosion of the civil liberties for others.

subscribing to either idiology seems pretty negative to me. no matter. i don't want to get into it. an argument like this will circle around with no point or conclusion.

I don't want to get into it either, but from everything I've been able to tell, Adam is a cool guy, and I just don't think you should have trashed him. Maybe you think he's misguided and I'm not going to argue that with you, but isn't he due some benefit of the doubt here?

i'm not going to exempt someone just because they're timid. a mission to south dakota seems like a waste. the guy is smart, and that makes the waste of his intellect all the worse. i wasn't planning on saying anything, no, i only jumped in here because i didn't think anyone deserved to be banned for their opinion on it. so nevermind everything i say. i'm completely irrelevant, anyhow.
