Default ipod rippers?

i have a feeling that my ipod is in its final days, and i don't want it to take all of my music with it to the great electronic beyond. i tried to download a few, but none of them seem to be working. ipod rip, ipod copy, something else too...

can anyone point me in the right direction? it would mean a lot.

Do you use foobar2000? If so, there's a nice plugin that could do that for you.

try iDump , it's free.

Are you aware that, technically, you do not need a 3rd party program to grab the songs off the ipod? When connected as a harddrive, just navigate to it with windows explorer, (ipod drive: )\ipod_control\music\F00 thru F##

All your music files are randomly dispensed in the F## folders with random lettered filenames. You can just grab them from there. Hopefully, they are properly tagged, so when you re-add them to itunes (or equivalent) the song info will appear correctly. At worst, you'll have to re-tag some files.

Oh yeah, you need to be able to see hidden folders in explorer (just an option you check in folder options).
