I was just listening to Stauffer's show and he had BG on again and he was very candid with his comments.

Laraque said he would come back in a heartbeat if the coach was fired as he could never play for MacT again. Then launched into the following:

BG says Howson and Lowe were going to give him the NTC but said they needed to make one last call before they could confirm it and they phoned MacT and then came back and said no after that.

BG mentioned in there that MacT would only re-sign last Summer as coach if he had more say in what players come in and which ones leave. So he knows it was MacT that wanted him off the team.

I have to commend one caller who said Boogard is effective (George had brought him up earlier in the conversation) because he initiates, he stirs the pot and does not need to fight every night and is still having an effect on the game and if he played that way he would still be here and probably had gotten a raise instead of a pay cut offer.

Stauffer said would he be willing to change to be more effective that way. BG says he is too nice of a guy to do that stuff and he will never change and he will not be the guy to go start things or go after anyone on the ice. Hard to say MacT was wrong as George just layed it out and he will only be a reactor and would only go after a true heavyweight.

This was great for me actually as George has confirmed a lot of the complaints I had about the man. It also makes me wonder when earlier in the season in an article about Stortini MacT made comments about Storts being an initiator and not reactor as reactors in todays game hurt their team and being an initiator is how a tough guy can help his team.

George is a super nice guy, if I had the power he would have a PR job here when he is done in hockey. But I am glad personally he is gone on the ice and apparently so is MacT.
