Watching the Yankees lose is like having Road and Track score any other midsize sports sedan higher than a BMW. A beautiful thing. Beautiful.

The angels are so underrated; I think this may even be the first post in this thread that even mentions them by name

whoops, spoke too soon- that's what i get for waiting until the inning was over. Still, I feel that this game would be regarded more as a yankee loss than an angel win if the game ends as expected. Whoops- a yankee homerun. So what. 9-3. Throw the ball back you dumb bitch!!!!!

I don't see the whole "Yankee Magic" thing. They are basically an All-Star team put together. Any day they lose is a disappointment. There is nothing magical about a team with a $160 million payroll.

Check out that home run.

We can still win this one.

So what? You're jealous because other owners care more about saving money than winning. The Yankees could care less about how much they spend, so long they win the World Series.

Besides, you know what? All of their stars came from their OWN farm system, and they pay them to keep them. Too bad about the only team that has a decent farm system is either Oakland or Minnesotta, and they're both too cheap to keep their players after 5 years.

Holy shit. Your stupidity, by far, exceeds anyone else's on this board when it comes to baseball.

The Yankees could care less about how much money they spend because they have alot of it. They are a huge market club.

One of the biggest struggles teams have is paying their homegrown players to stay with the club after their initial contract runs out. Obviously the Yankees won't have a problem with that. You can take back that comment.

I don't see why you don't understand what I'm saying. This isn't groundbreaking shit I'm posting.

Uh, no.
David Wells - started with Toronto.
Roger Clemens - Boston
Mussina - Baltimore
Ventura - Chicago White Sox
Giambi - Oakland
Mondesi - Dodgers
White - Montreal (I think)
Weaver - Detroit

They do have a great farm system, but come on, not ALL of their stars came from it.

It is too bad that Oakland and Minnesota don't have enough money (because they're small market teams). It's also too bad one of them is going to get further in the playoffs than the Yankees. Wait, no it isn't

Minnesota can bring 56,000 people to playoff baseball. Oakland can sell out the Coliseum. Why the hell do only 15,000 people go to the respective games in the regular season? It's marketing. The Yankees are the best marketed team in baseball, if not sports. When I said all their stars, I meant it figuratively, that's my bad. However, off that list, only four are worth a damn anymore and really don't mean much to the Yankees anymore.

If a team can't afford players who they want, perhaps the system is flawed, but maybe the team needs to move to somewhere they can compete. It's not the Yankees fault that are all good businessmen and the KC Royals suck. Don't hate the most dominating team lately because they can afford to be good. If I could afford a Hummer instead of a Presige, I'd buy. Just like the Yankees will pay Giambi and not settle with some spare first basemen.

But, the Angels are having a great year and a I give them props for beating NY. Next year, I gurantee you the Yankees find a way to win, even if they don't win the Series.

The system is flawed, yes. The Yankees have a lot to do with that. They have to take a great deal of the blame for the reason salaries are as high as they are right now.

Teams should move to locations where they can get a more steady crowd? How many New York City's do you think there are?

The Yankees front office isn't any better than any other teams. They simple have more "investors"(fan base) to pour there money into the team. The Yankees system isn't successful because of smart deals and great general managing, they are successful because they have access to such a huge market.

And the revenue for the Kansas City Royals is below what the entire Yankees payroll is.

Best marketed team in baseball. Hahaha.

Wake the fuck up, and realize you are wrong.

What don't you fucking get?

Blah blah blah Wayne. Your Mets were 10x more dissapointing than the Yanks. And your payroll wasn't tiny either.

The Yanks had a great season. The Angels absolutely deserved the series, they played much better. It happens. Period.

Anytime a dynasty team loses is awesome in my book. Especially a team like the Yankees.

Why do you think I'm as happy as clam that the Rams are 0-4 this football season?

It's such a cop-out to like the Yankees. that's what watching the couple seconds of the game made me realize. When you have to work to like a team is when it pays off. heh, years of supporting my grandpa working for the Jets has taught me that. that fuckin team has been in the shithole as long as I can remember, and when they got into the playoffs 2 years ago it was so fuckin exciting. of course they lost the first game but still.
