does anyone else find it ridiculously audacious for dean to pretend like he can accurately analyze everyone here?

also, this test is pretty cool i guess, but the openness section is way too subjective to be of any worth.

oh, by the way, i am for sure a 7-10 on agreeableness. there's absolutely no doubt about that. as for the other ones, eh, maybe. conscientiousness is probably lower than you'd expect.

well it's apparently pretty accepted according to this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Fiv...retical_status

i'm obviously not saying that this theory is anywhere near as tested as say...some stuff in physics, but saying that it's not of any WORTH without even reading up on the thing is a bit....stupid?

"In a 1981 symposium in Honolulu, four prominent researchers, Lewis Goldberg, Naomi Takemoto-Chock, Andrew Comrey, and John M. Digman, reviewed the available personality tests of the day. They concluded that the tests which held the most promise measured a subset of five common factors, just as Norman had discovered in 1963. This event was followed by widespread acceptance of the five factor model among personality researchers during the 1980s, as well as the publication of the NEO PI-R five-factor personality inventory by Costa and McCrae in 1985."

but you go on with that brutal self confidence, it will get you far as a salesman of various products.

i think you've proven my point two times in this thread already when it comes to openess:

A: i'm doing something that is out of the norm by making this abomination of a thread, making predictions of peoples personalities based on some posts i've read on a board and you immediately go berserk, it just doesn't fit into what you're used to and that's scary.

B: i'm presenting some new ideas. instead of getting interested, you dismiss it as bullshit without even looking it up. here you could go with the ol "well you just talk shit all the time so i assumed this was rubbish as well", which unfortunately also is a sign of closedness.

I didn't say it was bullshit. Not being of any worth was an overstatement. but still, who is to decide what a good idea is? or what a difficult word it? come on, man.

and i didn't go berserk, you made it appear as though people were going to analyze themselves, and then you had to call me out immediately. so i responded.

((((we learned this stuff the other week in social psychology. that class is pretty interesting, but it just sort of seems like stuff that would be a much better substitute for "raccoons have webbed feet" in those 'fun facts' collections. i couldnt imagine making a career out of it

your evaluations are pretty good, i couldnt change mine to increase my confidence in it's accuracy. terrible show by eulogy in this thread, but go figure.))))-alex
