Kate's pretty annoying, too. But she has looks going for her (even with MAN HANDS), so I don't mind as much.

I'm just pretty tired of Jack/Kate/Sawyer. Sawyer at least is funny, the other two I just have a hard time liking as characters.

worst ep of the season. bai ling is a horrible actress. who gave a flying fuck about jack's tattoos and "big answers" were already revealed by the commercials. their stupid promo dept shouldn't have revealed cindy in the commercial, it would have made a much better effect during the ep: instead of saying "whoa, there's Cindy!", because of the promos we're saying "eh? that's it???".

They shouldn't expect it to get any better, really.

Lost is like Arrested Development in that you can't just sit down, watch an episode, and have a good clue of what's going on as it pertains to the overall story of the series. The show isn't going to get 1/1000th as many new viewers as it will lose the longer it goes, especially if they keep putting crap episodes like last night's one out.

I'm kind of astonished at how much people disliked this; usually if anyone's annoyed I'm annoyed. But I thought this was fairly solid, and I don't even like Jack. We get to see a bit more of Other society and it seems like the organization is pretty big and goes beyond the island (like the "sheriff" was called in from somewhere else). I'm eternally annoyed that Jack doesn't ask more questions than he does, but I liked seeing him get pulled into this fucked up group, I like Sawyer being self-loathing again, etc. Can't said I ever cared what Jack's tattoo said, but I ignore the promos and anything the writers/producers say in interviews. I'm much less pissed off that way.

I think it was the worst episode in the entire series. I don't mind not getting answers and I do like Jack as a character, but this episode was just awful. The flashback was very uninteresting, we just got to see Jack wearing shades, drinking coca cola, flying a kite and banging a thai ho who ended up being a "mysterious" tattoo artist, c'mon!

I guess I expected Jack's experience in thailand to be cathartic and it resulted to be very unventful and without the necessary background.

I also didn't like the obviousness of the effort to align Jack and Juliete into the same path. OMG they are both marked.

i probably would have enjoyed the episode more if i hadn't been distracted the whole time by my own thoughts of how reviled it would be by virtually everyone else in the world. i was like preemptively astonished.
