this film was one of the most ridiculous pieces of cinema i have seen in my 63 years on this earth.

it was the first (i think) film i've ever walked out of.

it is third-degree made for TV schlock in the same vein as jamie foxx's ray charles movie.

WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE THIS MOVIE?

please, help.

see, i was brought to it by some family members who said that it was based on the supremes.

and that's what they were told, because i guess that's what dreamgirls technically is. but seriously. seriously.

i was so fucking confused when 45 minutes in to it, the fat one just starting singing randomly during a conversation with someone. why did they wait til almost halfway into the film to start the musical part of it?

see, the sad thing is i can answer your question. they were showing "glitter" on some cross country flight i was on a few years ago.

i can't decide if it was better or not. i'd say almost equal in terms of how dumbed down everything is.
