Default Computer question

What does "drive needs to be checked for consistency" mean?

I just bought a new laptop (Acer 5102WLM)...at one point I disabled my LinkSys wireless network card that I had just installed, then I tried to enable it later, and the computer froze. Every time I rebooted it after trying to re-enable my wireless card, it would freeze, then I'd reboot it and it'd find another problem with the "consistency" of the drive.

Side note: I ran a ScanDisk (a full one) and if found nothing wrong, a virus scan and it found nothing wrong...but curiously, the Disk Defragmentor seemed to run painfully slow, and it found files that it couldn't defragment...I'd delete a few of them, and then it would find new files it couldn't defrag.

I have restore disks...should I backup my files and restore Windows and see if that helps? It runs okay now...

Side note #2: My computer apparently thinks "okay" isn't a word and marks it as being a spelling error, and should be replaced with "Tokay."

Everytime I turn my computer on with my iPod plugged in I get this message. The iPod works fine so I don't really know what the problem is.

I get that too. I guess the computer just thinks that you want it to boot from externam device. The problem is just solved by unplugging the iPod, but it's annoying.

never experienced that, but you can configure in the BIOS settings in what order it should check for a bootable drive.
