condo changed ownership and since i never signed a lease, nobody's required to give 30 days advance notice.

i could sign a lease for a decent apartment in town that will keep me stuck in orlando for another year.

or i could relocate to another part of the country because i can afford it.

has anyone here relocated to another city purely for the sake of it. Like, how do you secure a job, find housing etc before you go there?

You could move to another city, if you have enough money saved up to make it for a few months without a job. There's no telling how long that could take, in some areas.

i have the money saved up. right now it's really just a question of where i would like to move to. and that's contingent on a lot of other factors. i mean, i don't want to just find a place to live without knowing how far it will be from where i eventually get a job. or vice versa.

also i'd like to move to a town with at least one other actively posting netphorian.

figure out where you want to move to, take a weekend trip and scope the place out, look for a place ot live and check the job listings and send resumes

That sucks, here in Chicago any lease for up to a year doesn't need to be in writing - acceptance of rent qualifies as a verbal lease agreement and they're required to give at least 60 days notice. I like Chicago's tenant laws at least.
