I am not sure what's the correct term - appendix or appendictis.

for whatever reason ive known all about appendicitis since i was 7. i havent known anyone around the time that they got their appendix removed, though, and though im sure i have, i cant remember knowing anyone who has had it removed

hospitals don't like to perform elective surgeries, for obvious reasons.

i did. i was 7 and it was about to burst for some odd reason.

and i think you may ask for it to be removed preemptively if there is reason for concern. i'm really not sure though.

I've still got mine. I remember when I was 8 I was rushed to the hospital with terrible stomach pains that my mom thought was appendicitis. It turned out to be gas. Woo.
