It's an incredible book, so well written. Quite possibly one of the best books I've read.
That is a pretty good book actually. It goes sharply and quickly downhill after that though.

finished dress lodger. it was ok. writing style was annoying at times.

think i'll read Son of a Witch next.

I liked Wicked better, but Son of a Witch is pretty good. I'm consdering buying some of his other books (I think there's one about the evil stepsisters and then another one).

I'm enjoying it man.. I borrowed it off my brother about ten years ago, delayed reading it for about 6 months, heard he was coming back through to glasgow so I read the first 30-40 pages or so that day, and it turned out he had to take it back to give back to his mate (it was his mate's book)

Anyway I've always meant to read it since then and I just got a hold of it, I've just passed page 125 or something and I'm really liking it. If it was adapted properly it could be a great movie as well.

yeah, he has a few. i've read all but Son of a Witch now.
Wicked is by far the best, the others really pale in comparison, but i keep hoping that he'll strike that chord again...

Just finished ellroys Black Dahlia. Excellent as expected. Anyone recommend the next one of his I should get. Started Kerouac's Big Sur. Not drawing me in as quickly as his others.

In my defence, I haven't read many books.

I read Midwives by Chris Bohjalian yesterday and I will start The Courage Consort by Michel Faber later today. Midwives was good enough to keep me entertained all afternoon but a little repetitive.
