Default nirvana punk tribute cd

i just listened to it last night and personally, overall, i hated it. a number of the songs were not creative at all, the bands did not make them their own. the songs were either left exactly the same, sped up, sung with crazy vocals, or just screwed up to the point where it sounded terrible. this might be because i'm not a huge fan of punk music to begin with, but i really think i listened to it with an open mind and gave it a fair chance. what does everyone think?

If I was to listen to a "Punk" tribute to Nirvana, it would have to feature The Buzzcocks, Wire, The Clash (impossible now http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/icons/icon9.gif), and pretty much nothing else, unless you start counting Gang of Four, The Pop Group, and E. Costello.
None of those people are punk. That's degrading. Punk is a horrible word :/
But I doubt any of those guys would want to cover Nirvana.

Why would he be? Nirvana did more than enough covers in their career

It's a real shame he doesn't have a grave to turn in.
