well the three of them combined did. i thought the defense played exceptionally well for the most part, considering the Cincy offense, and the running game was in top form.

not making excuses at all, but Polamalu is so far away from his usual self it's embarassing, he has a huge effect on offenses usually and now he's staying away from the line and missing tackles left and right.

anyway, i'd rather the Bengals take the division than the fuckin' Ravens. godspeed.

yeah that's another thing, when they lost to the Bungles last year it looked like the season was over, and that was in December. so you never know.

I'm a Giants fan and I could have given up when they were being beaten by Philadelphia but I didn't. Then they followed that up the next week with...

Wait. Maybe that's not such a good example.

the bengals were pathetic - did you see palmer back there getting batted around and throwing some horrible balls? everything they got the steelers handed them

2 of those were off a short field because of bad turnovers (colclough and haynes) - one was off a short field because of a blocked field goal - one was on a legit drive that the bengals actually worked at - he threw two bad interceptions could have thrown several others - fumbled a few times - he had a bad game

I was watching and I didn't think he had a bad game. I thought he was playing one of the toughest and most physical defenses in the game.

Eli Manning had a bad game.

saying palmer had a bad game is hilarious

working off a short field? i didn't see big ben getting any easy TD's in the redzone

in fact, i saw him throw two crippling picks in the red zone

Yeah, besides, when you capitalize on turnovers it means you had a good game. Starting with good field position is one of the most important elements of football and capitalizing on those opprotunities is a hallmark of a good offense.

I didn't say Ben did well, I'm just saying Palmer's 4 TDs don't say much about his performance because he generally didn't have to work for them, they mainly came about as gifts from the Steelers. Did either of you see Palmer's interceptions and how he continually looked like an idiot in the pocket? Momentum was very important in that game and our defense simply could not withstand the continual dumb plays from the offense and special teams.

I saw both his picks and neither was even close to being a bad throw or just poor decision-making, a la Ben in the end zone twice.

1. Pick #1 - LeBeau had an ingenius scheme on this one. He had someone line up over the slot, but at the snap of the ball, that guy ran directly toward the outside receiver. Genius. Though the 8 yard out route was wide open as far as Palmer knew, it really wasn't because LeBeau disguised it so well.

2. Pick #2 - He made an awesome throw over the middle to Henry who got a hand on it, tipped it up and into the hands of a Steelers defender.

Was it Palmer's best game? No. He hasn't had any games this year as good as last year's games. But he STILL played better than 95% of the quarterbacks in the league.

He floated that out route - everybody saw that pass coming and it was an easy pick

His second pick was into coverage allowing his receiver to get absolutely tattoed and the interception to occur

Point is he should get no credit for that win yesterday due to his play not only with those two passed, but with the others that our dbs dropped and with his 6 sacks and 2 fumbles
