Appropriate or Innapropriate? You decide!

So there's this girl, we'll call her Sue. She dated a guy name Jay about 10 years ago.

The guy was basically a total dick to her, emotional and physical abuse, etc...

He finds Sue on MySpace and says hi. She doesn't recognize him, so she asks who he is... he responds with "The guy who took your virginity"

Sue gets offended, Jay gets angry and "can't understand" why Sue's offended, and that he was only trying to "jog her memory".

Is saying such a thing appropriate?

Jay sounds like a moron.. Even if that was appropriate, it wouldn't make up for the physical abuse and such.

Jay needs to let go.
He obviously had insecurity issues, and felt the need to bend his will around Sue to keep her compliant and make him feel like the most important aspect in his life. He had to keep pushing her away to see if she would come back so he could feel better about himself.
And yet that downward spiral slowly ate away at Sues will or desire to love Jay.
And now 10 years later the stalker still has her on the mind. He’s still researching her on the internet, an initiating contact. And again, trying to immediately reassert himself into her life on some kind of significant scale, cause he convinced himself she’d never forget him cause he ‘took her virginity’. It’s probably something he used to comfort himself when he was feeling really bad and had no option to contact her.

If Jay has grown up at all in the last 10 years, he wouldn’t bother contacting her again if he already got a negative response to his immature little, ‘LOLOL, I TOOKS YER VIRGINUTY!’ message.

Jay is an idiot.
