I was watching Animal Planet last night, and they had so much Steve Irwin stuff going on.
I was kinda disgusted by the whole thing, to be honest.
They were just cashing in on his death, and owned the rights to so much of his footage.
I mean, they even filmed a fake Steve Irwin kid, and pretended it was footage of him growing up or something. They added texture over this high quality footage, of some random blonde kid wearing khaki clothes. And expected the masses to just believe it was Steve. Except while the kid climbed through the trees, they had like 8 different camera angles. Quite a home video.
They even had a song. It was horrible. Something about how we’ll miss you Steve, and it was exceptionally bad.

I just hope that all this exposure gets some money back into what he wanted. The animals he loved don’t care who exploits him, I guess, so yeah: look for the silver lining.

Why is it so hard to believe?

I just never expected the guy's death to affect me, but upon further thought, he was really a great guy. And though I never knew him in the least, I do know he was a real man, and someone I respect. I didn't think I'd feel bad for him like I do now.

Yeah dude, he was a genuine guy who got completely excited about things that were passionate to him.
He made a difference in the world which counted to him most.
I really am upset. It’s sad. My friends aren’t comfortable making jokes. Someone will make a half hearted attempt and get put down by everyone else. We acknowledge the mans greatness, we know on a conscious level his achievements and lust for life for outweigh any of ours.

Considering my friends are the kind who get a kick out of beating the shit out of some idiot, I think it’s a good sign of respect that these bastards wont even take a cheap shot at Steve.

But i have my stupid opinions anyway.
They're based on my stupid assumptions, not any education, so they can be largely dismissed, I dont mind.

Calm the fuck down and stop and think.

No one is seriously saying he wanted to die that way- who would? Given the situation, as it occurred, though, I'm sure he'd not be disappointed that that's how he was taken. You know, as opposed to being shot or falling off a cliff or something, he went out in a style befitting of himself. That's all. Quit being a douche.

I swear to god things are going too far down here with the tributes, I wouldn't be surprised if they named a 'Crocs Rule' day after him soon

For my part I went on somewhat of a Burnaby safari yesterday as a tribute. I left the house on foot at quarter to 12, and arrived back home at quarter to 7. Of course the only wild animal I encountered was a wee little squirrel. However, I did get lost in some dense parched up foiliage though. It was epic.
