my head was bludgeoned today.

my dad was doing some tree felling, so he was up in this big conker tree with a chainsaw, and this other guy and i were down below shifting the fallen branches out of the street. i was standing right underneath my dad, who must've been about 12ft above me. then whack, something hits me on the head at the same second i take off my hardhat to adjust it. i don't feel feint, but i press my palm on the wound and when i look at it, it's covered in blood. so we all rush to the bathroom and in the mirror i can see one side of my neck is totally drenched in blood. i wasn't in a great deal of pain, it just felt like a nasty bump on the head, but damn i've never bled so much. it was also starting to soak up my tshirt too, which is white, so for a moment i looked as if i'd just stepped out of some zombie flick. needless to say it was a good day for metal, as an hour or two later i proceeded to whack the shit out of my drums during band practise. i wished i hadn't washed the blood off.

i still don't know what it was that hit my head.

when i was a lot younger i got into a brawl with my older brother, and i was also wearing white. he slammed my head into a bedframe, and i instantly put my hands on my head where it hurt. my brother had a horrified look in his face and i was confused as to why we weren't still fighting. he said sorry, sorry, im sorry, and i didn't understand until i moved my hands, and blood literally lept off of my head and onto my shirt and the floor. it was coming out so fast, it was real frightening. i remember the sound of it hitting the shirt because there was such high volume coming out, it was like a dull slapping sound sort of. it got all over my shirt and pants and i went into the bathroom and had never seen anything like it! i felt kind of sick.

my mom was so angry at us for fighting (well, angry at me, since i had done something mean to my mother and my brother and i were fighting casue he was sticking up for her) that she refused to bring me to a hospital or a doctor or anythign to get stitches. for the next week or so whenever i showered, the water would go red cause the cut opened up. one time in science class it opened and blood dripped down my face and onto my paper. after a week roughly it started healing up pretty well.

you can actually see the scar in the liquid-j pic, and you can see it even better from a different angle or when my hair is even shorter. my little brother proceeded to make fun of it for the next several years saying that it was a coin slot and asking if he could slip a quarter into it. :/

when i was little i tripped, smacking the side of my head against a stone fireplace, right next to my left eye. blood everywhere. they said i was going to be blind in that eye, but luckily it healed ok. got a cool scar now.

i didn't play drums or anything afterwards, i think i just got angry and stayed in my room brooding, so your story is a lot more metal

well i would have had to go quite far against my regimented personal hygeine routines for that to even be a possibility. i shampood each day, it kinda stung! also, people are pretty resilliant, provided the basics are met, like food and rest and shelter and avoiding prolonged exposure to filth. i get kind of weirded out when i hear some people at work take their kids to specialist doctors for every tiny little thing. i understnad the urge, but it seems to me real healthy parenting when people are able to keep things in perspective and not be guided by all the 'what if's that will always exist
