you'll like it. and for me, if it's far away from family, that's a boon.

shaun and i were talking about opening a small record company...and i told him austin...and he's like..."i'll do it with ya if you move to portland." i need to be close to my family. that's a deal-breaker. i just have to sell him on austin.

3 cheers for P-Town! Hip-Hip... nevermind. But I really like it. I'd recommend not living in the city. Even more, I'd recommend not living on the east side.

(ignore this if somehow you don't mean Portland, Oregon. like Portland, ME...stay away from that. It's not the real Portland.)

i know...you're right...but i would be scared to be so far away. what if there were no available planes and there was an emergency? i wouldn't want to regret not being home for any major crisis. if i were in austin...i could take a plane which would get me to SA pretty damn quickly...or if there weren't any planes available...at least i know the latest i would arrive in san antonio would be two hours later..

It seems like you're always on the verge of making some huge decision involving a person that you've never even met who you know from the internet. In a week or a month you'll be posting about how horrible it is that everyone you meet ends up not working out well with you and then it starts all over again. Also it seems like you never actually get around to meeting these people in real life, just making imaginary long term plans in your head. That is kinda sad.

I don't hate you. I find it laughable you are worried about moving somewhere because you have made an online buddy who you've yet to meet.

... this thread is not going in your favor.

1.) don't go into business with somebody you've never met, unless you plan to swindle them first.

2.) and i don't know how it would even get this far - but, why write off a city you've never been to ...

anyway, good luck with the visit and the sxsw, and the shop.

I mean seriously, does Spa ced actually do anything in his real life besides making internet plans that never work out?

my threads always go this way...the haters usually come out late in my threads.
this is nothing new.

1) i definitely would not go into business with someone i've never met. i've taken too many business courses to do such a thing. of course we'd have to meet and have a stable friendship/relationship first.

2) i wrote off the city because it's just too far away from my family...i have family and friends in san antonio...and i want to be able to come home every other weekend or at least once a month to visit them.

oh and hey i loved chavez. well i love break up your band, the guard attacks and the pentagram ring.
i wish i would have discovered them years ago. i'm not really into that angular math rock like i once was.

oh cool, im glad you like them alright. family can be a big sway. that's nice that you don't want to leave. when i went to college i told myself - at least 1,000 miles away. i would recommend not ruling anything out, you never know ...

that's true...i should keep my options open. and when i was younger i did want to get away as far as possible...but i want to be around to see my nephew grow up...he's only a year and a half right now and i love him to death. and my three nieces as well. i don't want to be a stranger to them..
