I don't usually find dialects too much of a problem. A big part of communication is being good at understanding someone even if they don't speak in the same way as you. Plus 'axe' is pretty obviously 'ask' so I don't think it would be much of a problem, unless you're a dictionary purist. Also, it's interesting that slang and neoligisms that come from middle class white people or mainstream culture find their way into dictionaries as accpetable words, whereas ethnic or working class slang is seen as something worthless or comical - although that has been changing for a while now, I think.

Not that this was meant as a serious thread, but I'm bored.
