It's 8:35 AM here. I'm reading the newspaper, then I'm going to have some breakfast, throw the cosby kids to the pool, take a shower and then I'm going to buy some meat and stuff to make a carne asada to watch the Mexico VS Argentina match.

Good to hear Fairysex! I am having a nice cup of coffee and working out my monthly budget so that I can pay off all the stuff I just bought. Everything is looking good so there's no stress there....seemed worse than it was.

Then I'm going to eat breakfast, take a shower and go shop for rugs with my mom. Then I'll go out to dinner for my gramp's birthday and go out drinking later with a friend.

all in all not bad.

hey nimmy, I'm going to buy a computer from that site today. Thanks for the link again.

That's the thing. I looked at the Sony I wanted to get at Circuit City (which I dislike as it is) and it was just loaded with all kinds of junk...aol this, trial that. No real programs. It seemed like a good computed but it lacked a high quality feel to it. Then I figured well if I get the computer then I'll instantly have to reformat it and reinstall everything when I shouldn't have to.

That site is great in that the prices are very reasonable and they seem to not charge much for actually putting it all together. Plus I changed alot of the specs on the computer at little cost. Awesome idea for a company. Hopefully they don't take too long in sending it to me.

thanks again

Yeah, that's why I don't buy the large commercial brands.. they aren't very customizable, they come with a ton of shit that i don't want and they add those costs in

Plus usually when I want to upgrade I have to remove the hardware I didn't want in the first place, and it's totally useless to me afterwards

What site are you boys referring to? I'm pretty sure my Dell I've had for four years will die on my in the near future.

It was $110, including flat-panel LCD monitor. I've been very, very pleased with it - no problems whatsoever in four years.

I'm the same way. I made the mistake of buying a laptop from them and the last time I spoke to their technical support I released living hell on a tech supervisor and told them that I would never buy another dell product, not even ink, and that I will enjoy watching their stock plummet (which it has).

I get huge discounts through work but I don't even look at them.

I had a percentage off deal because a friend worked there and a $200 gift card to use toward it.

I think the actual price was $449.

Their laptops have huge overheating problems.

As for laptops I will only buy name brands, because of proprietary parts, the fact that I can't upgrade them really, and the warantee.

My Toshiba was fantastic. I say was because it is a pile of rubble now.

the overheating is rediculous. Plus when it overheats the cpu usage is like cut in half. Not to mention the actual casing is junk.

Go look at the Dell website.

Try and find the word "laptop" anywhere. You won't. Why you ask?

Because "laptop" encourages people to think they can put it on their lap. Which causes huge burns. Which they were sued for. Which instead of fixing the overheating issue, they decided to pay the person off huge out of court and remove all mention of laptop. Everything is now a "notebook."

I hate that our contract is with Dell. Such shitty machines

In the "Build your own" section, I don't see actual linkage to begin putting together your own machine.

I bought a new laptop thursday from bestbuy because I turned on my old one and there was some crazy malware/virus on it that wouldn't let me do anything and all my computer CDs are 3000 miles away.

It was just some hp one that was about 800$ after all was said and done. But then I finally fixed my old computer (my shitty 5 year old gateway, but the thing is still kicking after having the living shit beat out of it) so I returned the old one.

I'm going to keep this laptop until it dies but I really want to build a desktop computer. Laptops are nice for portability and space saving but they are just annoying when it comes to trying to add features. They are much less portable when you have to add all the external shit. I have an external DVD writer, hard drive, and USB 2.0 thing
