Exact same setup as the mixer I used for Just Ace, then - 5/6 and 7/8 are actually stereo channels, but if you come into the left channel ONLY of each, most mixers will default to putting this in the center. These likely don't have microphone preamps so you might want to think about running the bass into one of them, and then maybe if one of your guitarists has an amp modeller of some sort, like a POD, or even just a decent multifx unit, bringing that into the other input while also going out to an amp in the room so you don't all need headphones.

It's do-able. Trust me.

Even if you just record the output of the mixer to tape, or VCR, or MD, or **SOMETHING**.

It's probably even possible with only 4 tracks...

Put the bass amp facing towards the drummer, about 4 or 5 feet out. Put a mic inbetween the bass amp and the drums.

Put the two guitar amps either side of the drums, facing the drums. Put one mic inbetween each amp and the drums. Pan these hard left and right.

One mic for vocals.

The logic here being, hopefully the guitar mics will also work as widely spaced drum mics, and your low mic will pick up a bit of kick, a bit of toms and the bass amp. Vocals come direct.
