Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the camel spider. From what I've read they can grow up to 2 or 3 feet in length, they can move at 30 mph and they have attacked humans. I don't know about you but I'm definitely going to have nightmares about these things tonite.

I can't even fucking look at that thing...spiders already make me cringe. And that's the scariest fucking spider I ever saw. ewww.
Anyway, my vote for the other scariest creature is the octopus. Those things freak me out too. |

Spiders aren't scary. If anything they're interesting little organisms. Seriously, I don't understand this pandemic of arachnophobia.

spiders are interesting, when they're in books... they're creepy when they're crawling around, or running 30mph looking for a meal.

yea man, camel spiders are definitely the scariest things i've ever heard of.
my cousin is in the army and she was telling me about those things. they live in deserts, she had to deal with them when she was stationed in, i think, saudi arabia or some fucked place like that. they do chase humans, and they have the ability to jump. don't fuck with those things, they'll fuck you up. i guess where she was stationed it wasn't too uncommon to see people missing arms and toes and shit because of those things. god, it even looks mean. |

If that thing was only an inch long it'd scare the shit out of me. 2-3 feet sounds suspect though, that's absolutely gigantic. The biggest regular spider (Camel Spider/Sun Scorpion is neither spider nor scorpion) is the Goliath, which is 12" including legs in diameter. So something with a potential length 3 times that? It just sounds wrong. Is there any website to prove a size one way or another? Most I've seen say a couple of inches, but the pictures on them look nothing like this one.

I think sharks are terrifying. I mean, if you're swimming out in the ocean and you're attacked by a shark, are you going to just run away? No. You're going to be severely injured. The shark is in his natural environment with his aerodynamic fins and streamlined body, while you, a terrestrial creature, are left to just slap him a few times while he tears a chunk out of your side. http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif
