in any case you should see breaking the waves. its set in scotland and i thought it was, overall, a pretty hilarious portrait of the scottish. it really spared no insult, but youll have to see it yourself to understand. vomiting prostitutes and offshore oilmen just to give you a hint. and its typical von trier i think, so if you liked anything else, like dogville or europa, youll like it

i can tell you i got to the verge of it, but i didnt actually cross the threshold. dogville was sad in a different way and breaking the waves just kind of made me laugh

I would just like to clarify that Irish people actually have predominantly shit brown hair. It's the scottish who have a bit more red in em.
