This just in:

A re-united Faith No More, with Mike Patton, will be playing on the tour.

They will be taking the place of incubus, who dropped off the tour after Faith No More had interest in it. brandon boyd, vocalist of incubus had this to say; "You know, we had to drop off. If people listened to Faith No More and incubus on the same night, then they'd realize that I'm a wannabe Patton".

I think he's cool, too, when he's on stage, that is. I probably will go to Lollapalooza if I get a chance, just to hear their classic stuff. But if you know anything about the rumored and documented history of his life behind the scenes with the band and sometimes his personal life, he is a complete ass. The last bassist they had before their current one, Martyn LeNoble from Porno For Pyros, was basically getting paid nothing for touring with them, which I guess he was willing to accept just for the thrill and publicity of playing with Jane's, and supposedly Perry fired him backstage, before a show, in the midst of a heated argument. Along with his tendency of not being able to keep a bassist, through the years he's also taken complete creative control over the band, which was what drove away Eric Avery, the only member of the band besides Perry who actually had some backbone and songwriting talent. Between his and Dave Navarro's solo albums and their decision to reunite, he's reduced Jane's Addiction to a joke at this point, and while they are still excellent live, the fact that he's pushed things this far with reunion tours and a new album created mostly under his direction makes it seem like he's draining every last drop out of something that was once good through and through. The fact that he's taken over the return of Lollapalooza is just indicative of the fact that he's trying to bring back something that's not there, and furthermore, that he's still a control freak. Now, I don't think he's going about it all wrong, and I don't think it's in vain, and the show probably still will kick ass, and if I ever met him, I'd probably give the man a hug. But that's not the point. He's still an ass. And I wouldn't even care if I didn't love Jane's Addiction so much.

no one is perfect, i don't know what happened with eric avery, was it because of perry he left?? maybe they were too diffrent to be together, too creative........like John and Paul......do you think John/Paul is an ass too then?? or what about Billy?? Billy and Darcy???
you aren't sure what happened with LeNoble either.....just supposing......i LOVE jane's addiction and you do too, but i think you whine too much....Lollapalooza won't be the same again, but i think the name will interest many good bands to join the tour....i still hope there will be a few more interesting bands/artists to come along.......
what do you think they should have done instead? should Perry and Dave continued their solo carrers??
