I'm absolutely sick over this. I wanted so badly to work for them, but I'm not sure anymore.

Thankfully a lot of us agree nothing will top 2004, because it's going to be really hard to put together a competitive team with all the front office dirty laundry being aired and without any kind of stability during the beginning of offseason negotiations.

it's funny, cause any sane person would think it was about the money, but listening to cashman you get the feeling that, no matter how he prepared himself for leaving, he loves the organization deeply and however irrationally. as we are wont to do.

I always thought Lucchino just played the "bad cop" role, I honestly never expected anything bad to come out of it. I figured that owner's group wouldn't let any douche get in the way of the best interests of the team. we were set to pay one of the premier GM's in baseball what he should have been paid. actually it was a very good deal. we weren't overpaying because of sentimental connection to theo but we weren't underpaying either. this is simply a matter of lucchino not wanted to relinquish any power to theo, which is ridiculous. he's earned it. he SHOULD have a stake in this team, it's the team that he's building. it's for security reasons.

steinbrenner can be a pompous hardheaded jackass, and even though i've wished about a thousand times he'd get himself suspended again, he's always had the best interests of the yankees at heart no matter how misguided his decisions are.
