Ahhh yes, I hate seeing Urban Outfitters, because I always have to go in and try on stuff...even their shit is too expensive for me though!

I don't understand paying that much for clothes. It just doesn't compute to me, unless maybe if I had money to blow like that. But I could just as easily take the time to learn how to make something like that if I really wanted it that bad. I love that skirt but there is NOTHING on earth that would make me pay $328 for it.

dresses are the best in the summer, so much cooler than shorts! I wish there were more winter dresses i could wear without freezing- i was able to buy a long flannel one with sleeves so long they sewed thumbholes in it which is super warm.

i think anyone can wear a dress- if you are worried if its too 'overdressy' wear a cool old cardigan or some nice flats with it. I don't wear heals, because i feel overdressed in em if i wear, well, a dress.

Yeah I usually don't get a whole lot there at a time... I got this recently:

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/image...l/p145213b.jpg

and I love it, although it is overpriced, but it was a gift.

I also got
this shirt
but I am in a neverending quest for the perfect v-neck shirt...

Really? Wow. I bet I've been into the one in Woodfield, just never noticed. That is totally a Woodfield store...you've never been to that mall? Its kinda far, but if you ever have the opportunity to go, you should. They have a lot of cool clothing stores for women and the mall itself is just insane. It reminds me of a shoppers habitrail...I wish I could find a picture.

Oooh...I really like that. How much was that one?

I'm big on sales, especially at JCrew.com...they have great sales. eBay is also a good place to get dresses at a decent price.

i just own a cool rug and a cool shadow box with a watercolor and butterflies. i got both at amazing sale prices.

i did find one skirt there that looked amazing on me, but i think it was $228 so i just said no fucking way and took it right off.

i like to buy my stuff at h&m, you can find a lot of anthropologie type items for $20 not $200. when i leave chicago, h&m might be one of the places that i miss the most. but i realized the other day that i can take a $200 flight back here to see friends and the city, and i can buy 10 outfits for $300 and drag them back to wherever i've gone. where there is a will, there is a way.

what you see on the bottom may be part of the dress-stand and not part of the dress. i edited the metal armiture out of my initial picture because i didn't want people to think it was part of the dress.

or maybe you're not talking about that.

i think that my breasts and waist generally kill my dress-wearing experiences. they have to fit just right or they look bad and make me feel bad. my chest is too big for a lot of dresses that are really fitted at the top, and my chest also creates a tenting effect with dresses that hang loose below the chest, and it makes me look totally bigger than i am. also i am more insecure about my stomach than any other part of myself, so dresses that fit tight around the waist make me nervous, but i am totally working on it and i hope i can make it smaller.

Oh hey, nothing against fluffy stuff - it just looked like those cotton tassels for a second.

I think anyone feeling too dressed up needs to imagine Italian girls riding Vespas and drinking coffee at outdoor cafes

Well I meant the tassels effect at first, but once I could see that the metal part started looking like the shade support frame and it was all falling into place

i got something very similar to this at the beginning of the summer, and I love it. I can't wait for fall to be able to wear it again, because it's too hot right now. I love dresses and skirts and I think they're really easy to wear too. I think it's so practical to have a couple of favourite dresses and skirts and just put them on in a couple of seconds and that's it, you're ready to go. it takes me waaaay longer to decide what pants to wear and what top matches them, etc. I also agree that accessories matter a lot. Even the slightest thing like wearing some pretty earrings with a simple hair style and a nice dress can make you look and feel good. I like wearing cardigans with dresses too, because I don't have a denim jacket and I don't think I would really want one anyway.

Oh yeah, and something that helped me a lot when choosing dresses - I don't care what they look like on the manequin or whether they look pretty on a hanger, there are certain styles that work best for each body type, and I like to choose from those. No matter how much weight I try to lose, I don't think I'll ever look good in a pencil skirt. Pleated skirts and kilts though....

some fabu looking dresses here! I love those empire line dresses within Sam's entry.. beautiful.
I love dresses, but I have no hips with a pot belly which equals an oval centre that does not suit most dresses. poo.

i'm glad i was born in a time when i wouldn't have to wear one of those. It would drive me nuts, those things have to be at least 20 pounds. Not to mention the corset - no matter how romantic they seem.
