I was coming home from my friend's...and she lives in the middle of fucking nowhere, and I'd never driven around there at night. Well, I forgot about this incredibly sharp curve in the road, and I flew off the road and onto the grass, and then into a cornfield. I think I panicked and just tried to drive out....but I'd busted the drive train or something, so that didn't work.
It was pretty scary. Got my first accident out of the way in style. |

I have no idea how fast I was going....but the more I think about it, the more I think that I probably had to be going really fucking fast. blah.

Once my father and I went on a road trip to Canada. We were heading back home, it was sometime after 1 in the morning, it was VERY dark, we were in Pennsylvania. We saw a gas station ahead and to the right and there was a big patch of road going off to the right into the station, so we turn right, and it turns out that patch of road was in actuallity a big drop into someone's front yard cleverly disguised by the darkness. The car was airborn for a second befor we hit the lawn (OWWW), sped past the house, and then flew up and over the embankment again right into the service area. It was cool.

I remember my first accident. I had just gotten my car that day. I went to the cliffs overlooking the ocean with some friends and then rushed off to go to school, nearly spinning out of control on a patch of sand in the street.
On the way home from school, I stopped by my friend's place. He lived on a very steep hill and I didn't park with my wheel up against the curb.. instead I relied on the lip of his driveway to prevent my car from rolling away. I had a hard time with the parking brake and ended up slipping my foot off of the foot brake and onto the gas, sending me across his parents "lawn" and through the hanging branches of a pine tree. I came to rest on the brick wall seperating their property from the neighbors. Opening that door and looking a couple of feet down, I hear doors opening and look out to see a couple of his neighbors from across the street. Luckily for me, my friend's parents had AAA and my car was pulled off of this wall at no cost to me, other than the speedometer cable, a new tire, a scratched-up bottom and a lifetime of jokes at my expense. |
