Thumbs up i'm going on tour!!

ROCK'N'MOTHERFUCKING ROOOOOOOL!!!

I just got a phonecall from Lee (the bassist in my band) Hat are going to be joining 7 other bands from TAFE (including Seraphim and And Then The Dead Girl Screamed) on the TAFE Bands '05 Tour in November.

We're playing about 5 towns over 8 days. mostly country towns, but a few mini-cities. Carnarvon, Northam, Port Hedland, Boulder, all these kinda places (though i doubt anybody has heard of any of those)

The best bit is that all the other people who'll be on tour are friends/colleagues, so it'll just be a whole stack of cars and some trailers out on the road. Wake up, drive all day, rock up at the venue/town, eat, set up, eat again, play, watch/photograph the other bands, pack up, go to accomodation, eat again, get pissed, go to bed.

repeat X7.

it's gonna be, well, w00t.

We're Avant-Gardecore by genre... we havent been together long, but a lot of songs came together in this time. we've been likened to Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart and even Mr. Bungle. Lots of sudden mood/section/tempo changes, and pointless bizzarity. from our bio:

Quote:
Hat were first formed in the late 24th Century by four Aromatherapy students, who found a common interest in that they all had five lungs. All four were fond of neo-reggae-ska-dub-house-beats-cybertrance, and formed a band that sought to push the limits of the genre. The original line-up (His Holiness Pope Steve Morton IV, General Karl Moleman, The Prophet Majeeer, and Jeff) had several rehearsals, before accidentally getting so funky they travelled back hundreds of years years through time to the early 21st century.

Finding themselves in a world unprepared for their super-high funk levels, the three remaining members (Prophet Majeeer dissapeared during the time travel) chose to combine two historically relevant genres: Avant-Garde and Hardcore. Thus, the worlds first Avant-Gardecore band was formed. Finding their previous occupations to be currently taken, His Holiness and The General assumed the identities of Tom Loss and Lee Yoresh, two mild-mannered TAFE students, and the trio set out to retake the world they had once owned from their high positions of power.
god, that looks really wanky doesnt it?

that bio is awesome. normally when someone tries to have a crazy story like that it isn't good (or has already been done by gwar or whoever) but that's good.

although everytime i hear a band say they combine hardcore with something else it just sounds like hardcore!!

no site as of yet. we'll have a 5-track demo available in about 3 weeks, and i'll put a few songs online.

thanks for all the interest, guys.

and for the benefit of CZV: we're not really that heavy. it's just a title.
