Arrow Do human activities, in part, cause global climate change?

I don't think I've ever seen a poll like this on Netphoria.

that's right

i mean, in your mind, is it at least a contributing factor to the permafrost melting in the arctic?

or, do you subscribe to the school of thought, rather prevelant nowadays at 1600 Pennsylvania, that says the climate "changes" we are noticing are just a part of the natural cycle of Earth's environment

i dont think its really a question of if, but how much. itd be pretty ridiculous to answer an unequivocal 'no' to that question

Yeah I don't understand the purpose of this poll other than to allow assholes like jczeroman and Nimrod's Son to spew their political nonsense about this issue. There is no 'yes or no'. Humans cause climate change. This is a fact and simple science. This is just one of those things where there are no two sides of the issue.

That's what I was thinking. Of course humans cause climate change. Cows cause climate change. It's way too broad of a question.

We know that there is a natural warming/cooling cycle. And we also know that humans can affect that cycle.

If you had asked, "are humans ushing in an unholy environmental appocolypse via SUVs and smoke stacks which will destroy mother earth and all she contains?" then I would have said no. The fact that we're having an effect is obvious, the idea that it is even remotely significant is a joke.

Everything causes climate change.

However I think the school of 'humans are causing another ice age!!!!!' is a bit of bad science. Humans didn't cause the last ice age, right?

hey sorry - I am not sure if I get it right what you are saying - you think that even though we might/do have an effect, it is not even remotely siginificant - so that human activities are not responsible for current global warming?

Please tell me it ain't so.
