reducing the color on the first one does very little to change the file size, the only thing you can do is to either remove some frames (like every other one and adjust the timing of the remaining frames) or cut down parts of it.

or you know, magically fix it like alison did.

i just cut out a third of the frames and cropped it a bit and reduced the colours down to 16. meh, it looks ok. I'd use the original gif. as a signature though!
