i was chatting with some mates about hiring a narrow boat next summer. i was like, 'hell, no. we hire a canal boat in amsterdam! you drive. i'll smoke it up on the port-side. or starboard. or stern. where's the front!?'

yeah that would be pretty cool, we wanted to hire a houseboat last time but apparently you can't smoke on em. i never thought of just smoking on them anyway at the time for some reason.

I would be cool to get a big apartment, the one im in this time fits up to 6 people with an extra bed (http://www.amsterdamby.com/entrepotdok/)

but there are other ones my bro's mates have gone to that can fit over 8-9 people. and it works out cheaper than some fucking hostels! it's working out at 25 euro a night each!

my grandparents: british born. first generation british

my parents: born in southern-rhodesia (zimbabwe), but their births were never registered in the uk! because of this they are second generation british, but still entitled to british nationality through descent.

me: born in zimbabwe. third generation british, and not entitled to british nationality. i am entitled to an ancestral because my grandparents are first generagion nationals. this is the visa i am here on. it's essentially an eternal visa, but after about four/five years and fulfilling certain requirements i can apply for indefinite leave to reamain, and shortly after that... nationality!

in the mean time i have to get visas to go to europe.

neither do customs officials!

when i travel with my parents... they go through the eu queue. i have to stand in the non-eu line. when i get to the front i usually get quizzed about the strange people waiting for me. i then have to explain that they're british. then they wanna know why i'm not. i have to go through the whole story!
