No.

Though, I didn't give two shits for them untill I saw them live. That changed everything.

I enjoyed them incredibly each of the five times I've seen them. Of course, all five gigs were opening for Modest Mouse. But yes, I thought they were great.

it probably involves neurotransmittor substances, the structures of nervecelles in the brain, how myelinesed the axions are and more. i recommend that you read the book "biology" by campbelle and reece and then move on to more specialised books about neurophysiology.

yeah but what do they say in a sociopolitical context? songs about emotions have been done to death. i guess it's okay to listen to if you're a republican...

for the people who don't like them, what kind of music do you like? and, from those bands/people, which are your favorite albums/songs?

i'm just trying to figure out how The Shins don't appeal to virtually everyone...i mean, it's like CCR...if you don't like them, how can you enjoy rock music?

Chutes Too Narrow sounds lifeless, like it was made by indie-pop robots. totally dull.

their first album is good.

I like certain songs by them (some even a whole, whole lot), but there are an equal number I find almost unlistenable. I haven't seen them live though.

I saw them last night. They were fun. I actually enjoyed their opener, the Brunettes.

They should tour with Blonde Redhead.

I could listen to New Slang every day of the rest of my life and not get tired of it, I think. I've pretty much listened to Oh Inverted World at least weekly since it was released.

Oh, Inverted World is great. I listened to Chutes to Narrow a lot when I first bought it, but as soon as the newness wore off. . . I was going to try to catch them while in NYC but couldnt' get tickets for the weekend shows and then ended up working too late on Monday. I've heard they are pretty good live.
