It's sort of peer-to-peer sharing file that instead of downloading a program that you have to open (like soulseek or kazaa) you download a client. You search sites for something you want to download, click on a link and your client automatically pops up. You're still linked to other people but only for that file, and it's usually for bigger files like movies, tv shows, live shows, etc. I'm not good with the technical aspect but I hope that is somewhat clear.

I'm not sure about that to be honest. I know it's a whole hell of a lot faster because you download from a bunch of people as a opposed to one but other than that I'm not sure.
