Batman comic / batman begins geeks

I've always loved batman but the only storyline I ever fully followed was the Nightfall one (thats right isn't it, with Bane breaking his back and jean paul valley and all that)

I was just wondering, with comics being pretty available on torrent sites and all.. can anyone recommend me some good runs of batman, possibly, but not necessarily, relating to the upcoming story in batman begins (if it's known to be based on an existing story)

Year One still stands as my all time fave, although of course most people will still say Dark Knight Returns outshines it

in terms of recent books there is a $5.95 one-shot by Ed Brubaker called The Man Who Laughs which was excellent

also there's Arkham Asylum if you've never read it - that one's a complete and utter mindfuck of a book
