whenever i try to save a picture i've found on the internet, i'm only given two formats to save it is: .art and .bmp. where do i go to change this?

I'm going to assume you're using IE.

Tools, Internet Options. Click Delete Files. Check Delete All Offline Content. Click OK. Reload the page with the image you want to save.

Done.

I don't know the specific AOL cache clearing info, but it uses an IE back end so I still believe this is the cause of your problem

From Google:
From the 'My AOL' menu, on the AOL toolbar,

Click 'Preferences', Then Click 'WWW'

Look for the 'Temporary Internet Files'

Click 'Delete Files', then click 'OK'.;

That should clear your cache and give you a fresh start.

like if you want to save something as ass

physically type the .jpg after it. ass.jpg.

Don't use their crappy browser, download firefox or Opera or something. Are you sure the picture isn't a bmp? Some people do actually use them, you can tell because they load really slowly and from the bottom upwards

i can't. it's not my computer :/

we have DIAL-UP :/

and every image i try to save comes up the same, so it's not a matter of actually stumbling across that particular format

Sure you can't download Opera? It's 3.5MB, that won't take long. Then you can just uninstall it when you're done. Just don't tick the checkbox to download Java with it
