Red face I never realized how ridiculous the Back to the Future movies are

I watched Part II the other day, and man, it's terrible! So many things make no sense. I love it though. I used to watch the first one over and over again. It's really strange watching shows now that you used to watch when you were really young.

I think the classic 1955 Biff is great. But the 1985 second-coat-of-wax Biff is pretty great too.

I remember watching ET for the first time in years and years and going "ohhhhh now I get it".

I always liked BTTF II. Hoverboards. Maybe I shouldn't watch them again though....I don't want to ruin the magic.

i got the bttf trilogy dvds for xmas and watched them with my brother. the first one is great, a really solid well done flick. the second one is complete shit although it has a couple cool moments. the third is excellent, and very clever. definitely worth watching even if you hated two. like the others, you have to overlook some things to enjoy the "plausibility" =).

Those movies were the shit when I was a kid. They seem kinda silly now, though. The first one is still pretty good.

I never noticed when I was a kid that they switched the actress who plays Marty's girlfriend.

Also, on the DVD there is no "To Be Continued" at the end of the first movie. There always used to be...

Hm.
it'd be cool if marty was his own dad.

it would also explain why michael j fox played his whole family in bttf2.

did you also know that george mcfly in 2015 isn't the original george mcfly?

the 'to be continued' was not added at the end of the first film on the dvd release because that is how it was originally in the theatres. in 1985, when the first film was screening, the producers had no idea whether there would be sequels, they kind of ended the movie with everyone going into the future as a joke. so yeah, if you went and saw the film when it first screened you wouldn't have seen 'to be continued' flash up at the end

I had no idea it wasn't the same George.

I had part 1 taped off TV when I was a kid, and it had the "to be continued". I knew they hadn't planned any sequels, and that the going-to-the-future thing was just a joke, but I always thought the "to be continued" was part of that joke. Makes sense though, thanks (and ******).

yeah, the reason is because that Crispin Glover(George McFly from the first film) asked the BBTF producers for a ridiculous amount of money to star in any of the sequels, since he thought that he was getting to be a big time actor in those days. the producers told him they wouldn't pay him the amount he asked and they just decided to make his role minimal in the sequels and not use him, and that is why in Part 2 George McFly is dead in the alternate 1985, they didn't need to use Crispin Glover if he was dead did they! and they only used George McFly in 2015 for a few scenes because they knew they could get away with it, since George was an old man and had plenty of make up on, you could hardly tell it was a totally different actor. and in Part 2, when Marty goes back to 1955 to get the almanac back, all the scenes shown with 1955 George McFly were taken from the first film or they were done with doubles(when they had their backs to the camera), therefore they didn't need Crispin Glover for any of the sequels

Wow! That's pretty cool. In 2015 he also spends half the time upside-down, so I guess that makes it harder to recognize him.

this is what i did and its a huge fucking mistake. its like watching the exact same movie over and over and over. its not fun at all. try and space them out by about a week between each. that way itll seem a bit fresher, but youll still get all the fun similarities between the different ages.

Bleh ok. The only films i've done it with before were the Wayne's World movies and Star Wars Trilogy and they both worked fine. I thought Wayne's World might be like that, but it was actually really good still. ... I'll make it a weekly event in that case...

I watch all the BTTF films in one sitting once every 2 or 3 months, I love them to death, it works watching them all together, but maybe that's just my opinion

I got the trilogy for xmas also. I have been watching the 1st 2, but I have yet to move on to #3. I noticed when I was younger Elisabeth Shue was now his girlfriend & that Crispin wasn't in the 2nd one. They are still good to watch.

the box set is just the three 4-disc extended editions together with no new features according to peter jackson. might as well pick them up one by one to prepare for your 12 hour epic film =D
