my grandmother is breaking my heart.

she has emphyseema (she never smoked, no one knows why she has it), she's diabetic, which caused her to have an enlarged heart, which caused her to have congestive heart failure the treatment of which caused her kidneys to fail.

she's going on dialysis sometime this month.

she lives with us. she's 84. she's so swollen from the retention of fluids, and she can never catch her breath, and i love her so much and i don't want her to die...

and i feel so abd for her...

my grandma is 83 and she's always been the one thing that held this family together, when she goes i don't think i'll see much of my family anymore.

aw , i'm sorry that you have to deal with all that , melancholia.

Grandma is 89 with Alzheimers. She's under 90 pounds now - just a skeleton with flech pulled over her bones. My poor mom is ragged taking care of her - even though she has to be in a home now my mom is there constantly helping her. Grandma was here for xmas but didn't remember me and kept swearing at my momwho was trying to help her go to the washroom....its a bad disease.
