Unhappy oh, mirror in the sky . . .

what is love?
can the child within my heart rise above?
can i sail through the changing ocean tides?
can i handle the seasons of my life?

It's a pretty decent song. The original is the best one.

ive been listening to it a lot lately. i havent listened to any depressing music in ages . its so weird. for the longest time all i could listen to was like rap music or just any shitty music really.

i guess if i had been listening to sad music i would have gotten so depressed i would have had to be committed to the looney bin. and now that i am im just so unbearably sad. i hate it. at work tonight i could hardly function. i couldnt smile at anyone, nothing made me laugh. a really good friend came to visit me and i just kinna sat there and let her talk to the other girl that was working. i dunno if its the pills or whats going on with me. i forgot what its like to wallow in sadness, i havent let myself do it in so long which is probably a good thing. atleast i know i sort of have a grip on my emotions, however, right now im a complete crazy.

So what are some of your choices of songs for those depressing moments?

i watched the nightclub scene before i heard the song. it was only julio's mention that the original is better that cuased me to download it. fuck it's a great song. i have other obsessive songs like "at last" by eva cassidy or something. and yeah. sleater-kinney's one beat :-/

uhh. but back to jenny4ever's topic. i was so sad when i like thought about how bolly didn't write that song. the first time i ever heard it was on the radio and i was young and didn't really know about stuff so forgive me. but it seemed to fit him so well. especially the part about mournign about getting older and "if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hill, well hte landslide brought it down" i don't evne know why but . or maybe just my idealized image of him as this fallen superman. peh.

Nah. Bolly's is more intimate to me, therefore a better version. I'd take his over FM's anyday. I used to LOVE the FM version, then SP's came out and I've barely listened to it since.

Songs for depressing times for me are Comfortably Numb, Country Feedback, Soul One, Don't Give Up, The Dreaming Tree, Black, Turn the Page (the original), and others I can't recall at the moment. I have a whole 2 discs worth of songs I play when I want to wallow in misery and self pity.
