I'm just so goddamn congested. My chest feels so tight. I feel like that "fish with no water" commercial. I cough so hard until I gag, but no phlegm comes up or anything. Usually when I have a cold, my chest gets all rattly and I cough a lot, but they're always "productive coughs" and I cough up some of the "congestion". Not this time. It blows.

yep 4-5 times when i was a kid and had lung problems. At one point my lung became infected and swollen to the point it was irritating my heart. its much like this: coughcoughcoughcoughcoughcoughHACK coughcoughcoughcough

A few times when I was younger. I don't remember it being very pleasant but I was always catching something when I was younger.

I'm pretty sure that I'll get pneumonia at some point... my family has "weak lungs" and my dad has had pneumonia MANY MANY times. He got pneumonia every year when he was a kid, much like I got strep throat every year when I was a kid. Ugh

ugh the weak lungs thing gets worse and worse every time you get bronchitus and pnemonia. I got pnemonia this past summer and it took months to shake it. Once you get it once it just keeps coming back every year or so. I am waiting for the time when i'll get it badly enough i'll have to be hospitalized.

Yeah, I had it once during my senior year of high school (January 2003)... then I got it in April 04, and again in Sept/Oct 04.

If I stopped smoking, the probability of getting it again shortly would drastically decrease.

I had it just over a year ago.. pretty much sucks big time. I was definitely coughing up chunks, though, so you might have something else. Go get your chest x-rayed and see if you can get a drug called... Zithromax? something like that. It worked like a charm for me.

pneumonia is by deifnition fluid in the lungs. it's not a big deal until you start getting an infection. that's how people die. it's not pneumonia, but 'complications from pneumonia'. GO to your doctor and he will give you some antibiotics and you'll be fine.
