I'm sure down the road they will either port it, or make a sequel to either Majora's Mask or OoT.

So what if they do, you think that this port and Mario64DS are only games people are going to buy for the system? I think not.
I'm still talking about it cause you were?

What?

I'm not really angry, I'm just trying to make sense of what you were saying... trying to get you to type that OoT is not a confirmed title (check), and say that people are going to buy more than just 2 ports...

I may even buy a DS

if the Xenosaga thing pans out

not anytime soon though

I probably won't be buying a PSP anytime soon either, unless of course I get one for Xmas

but the PSP is so much sexier than the DS

so much sexier

DS > PSP

I thought like you sehki, before I held a ds and played prime multiplayer. The fsp aiming alone is break through.

wow the first subtstantial reason anyone has had for the DS being superior

cool! I mean, I definitely don't hate the DS. I'm just a Sony guy. I own an SP and there's a good possibility of me getting a DS but I think I'd prefer a PSP in the end.

i know i said this before, but the DS is too dependent on first party support. its all about who gets the final fantasies, the grand theft autos, the castlevanias, ect--and since 1995 sony's had a tendency to favour such frachises in their favor. not to say the DS wont see any quality third party support, but in the end it wont even compare to what the psp may get.

but at heart im a nintendo fanboy, and i hope i'm wrong

The fact that Square is working on an online FF for the DS will make it successful. There are many games that will come out for both systems that will be ports(except currently PSP has a shitload). The PSP has many features but I don't see people paying 15 bucks to see Spiderman 2 on the PSP instead of a regular DVD. Also, having to carry around a back up battery because once that movie is over the PSP battery is dead. It also doesn't have an analog stick. They call it an analog slide or something. I could go on. Sehki, good luck with the PSP. I hope its worth the 200-300 bucks just to play FF7 and see the Advent Children trailer.

Also, Mario 64 is a port but its been upgraded. It has an additional 30 stars and some of the minigames are quite fun.

One million plus units sold in 2 weeks time. Sure its chirstmas season but in japan, all the PSP can sell by years end is 200,000. Why do you hope it bombs alex? Aren't you an xbox fanboy? You should be hoping the PSP bombs so Sony loses money.

Lik-Sang, popular Hong Kong retailer and exporter of electornics and games for importers, has published a little hands-on with the load times for a few games, and how the unit stands up to minor handling.

The minor handling aspect, according to Lik-Sang, says that the areas where players will have their hands gets smudged with fingerprints, and quickly. In order to test the unit, and produce good looking pics for people to see (click the link to the article for the pics), that they wore plastic gloves--to prevent the fingerprint smudges. Most gamers probably won't care about smudges from fingerprints around the buttons and D-pad, though.

As for the load times for the games? Well, some of them were pretty long. The load times were taken from demo units set up in Japan, and describes the powering down of the unit and then powering the unit up with the demo disk of the appropriate game in it (most likely by a Lik-Sang employee in Japan). The results are as follows:

Ridge Racer:

• From power off to Namco logo and title: 16 seconds
• From selecting car/track to start the race: 14 seconds
• Exit the game back to car/track selection: 10 seconds

Dokodemo Issho:

• From power off to PSP logo and title: 20 seconds
• Starting game from title screen: 10 seconds
• Going back to title screen: 5 seconds

Mojipittan:

• From power off to title screen: 20 seconds
• No more waiting time

Minna no Golf (Hot Shots Golf):

• From power off to PSP logo and title: 24 seconds
• From character selection to start: 19 seconds
• Waiting between courses: few seconds only

The Hot Shots Golf demo's menu was apparently also not working correctly, but this might be attributed to pre-release demo software, and will hopefully be fixed in the final release version.

As we can see, though, the initial loading of the unit is between 20-24 seconds for each demo. While this is not indicitive of what the final games' loading times will be when powering on, but it isn't a good sign so far. Other loading times were as fast as under 5 seconds, to as long as 19 seconds.

The thing people need to remember, is each of these loads draws more power from the PSP's battery, as it not only spins the disk, but also moves the laser. As to how this loading will affect the battery life of the PSP still remains to be seen.
