Plus, with all the lawsuits, the league will be scrapped for a bit of money sooner rather than later. I remember when Francisco threw that chair at that dumb bitch in Oakland, you kept saying baseball's the only sport that'll happen and it'll kill the game. This was only 50+ times worse, why don't you admit that already? |

The negative image surrounding the NBA is entirely media generated. Since Jordan retired they won't stop crying about it. Now the Lakers dynasty has been broken up and the leauge is wide fucking open and the media is still saying the NBA is in a lull. Whatever, dudes. Quote:

I highly doubt the NBA is going to pay for any of this. There are two lawsuits and as I see it, and the leauge is not liable for the actions of individuals. It is highly questionable whether the fans assaulted, were assaulted without provocation. Quote:
You tell me how this is worse than when the Yankee Bullpen beat the living shit out of the southie groudskeeper a year ago. |

I'm not saying it's No. 2, that's Mr. Stern that says that. But, those guys are great players and the like, but they don't have the Jordan, the Bonds, the Lewis-like attention a league needs. Kobe did, but he was killed by that dumb bitch in Colorado. Duncan plays in San Antonio, he just goes too unnoticed. Same for Garnett.
And I agree it's the most popular American sport, probably No. 3 overall behind soccer and hockey. There will be more than two, and the league is liable. The players are a part of a union, any time a union is sued the league/coporate offices are responsible for the damages. I think Artest could face jail time for this, unfortunately. The sad thing was it wasn't entirely his fault, but he shouldn't have reacted how he did. O'Neal was the guy I was most ashamed of. But you can't compare this to the Yankee/dugout fight. Those were employees, and only three involved. This involved paying fans and players, more than 20 guys were involved and weapons were used (at least a chair, if not more). Nelson just beat that guy up in the bullpen, this was an all-out riot in the stands/on the court. |

Refer to what I said about the fact that this mindset is wholly created by the media establishment. By the way that excuse for people not noticing Kevin Garnet (MVP anyone?) for playing in Minnesota is nullified by Randy Moss. The media will hype anyone from anywhere if they provide the necessary controversy and soundbytes. Too bad Tim Duncan has poor communication skills and lives a boring life. Two further points: 1. No one likes Kobe except the media, and this goes back before his buttsex extravaganza. He is not respected by anyone who watches basketball outside of L.A. (and I'd wager he's pretty controversial there too). He's definetly not respected by black youth. Darth Kobe is a brilliant player but as a personality, he's shallow, selfish, and phoney in many regards and his villanous acts in Colorado make him the leauge's villan, which I contend is good for the leauge. 2. Lewis who? Ray Lewis? I'd wager LeBron is a few magnatudes bigger than fucking Ray Lewis. |
