How do you dial the US?

Well, I mean ... Whatever, you know what I mean. If you were, say, Iain, and you'd been trying to call, say, me for weeks ... And you had my number and everything, what would you dial before you dialed my number so you could finally call me and talk to me drunkenly and with accent, instead of just saying you're going to?

Non-USian 'phorians? Little help?

I think there's a country code or something they've got to add. I'm not sure though, I've never been outside the US trying to dial in.

from here, it'd be something like
00 International access code
1 Country code (01 being the US)
9 Area
xxxxx number

so, for example, if I was to call the US for some reason...nd let's say they're in Manhattan...

00 1 212 12345678 would dial someone in Manhattan from here.

Oh, no, I did it all the time when I was there. But I can't remeber what number you needed to dial out of the country. Anyway, I guess we were doing it right and it turned out to be a problem with the phone or something..
