the looks alone are quite impressive. i was actually shocked, like mouth open and everything, when i saw how they did the grass. shit, wow, thats hot. so many new possibilites open up when graphics get to this level. theres so much potential when it comes to videogames, not only visually, that it blows my mind. its a shame that the industry largely isnt doing much radically creative

Its set in the 60's so its someone who looks really like Raiden, or they use that soldier in a cloning experiment.

In MGS2, when you rescue the President, he grabs Raiden's crotch because he doesn't know if he is a girl or not.

I think its pretty sweet Naked Snake (his real name is Jake, later becomes Big Boss )starts out completely bad-ass, but gets betrayed by The Boss - she kicks his ass and takes his eye as proof of loyalty to Russia. He does flat out school Ocelot and hands his head to him. Later he teaches him how to shoot with revolvers.

I kinda thought this was going to be "Big Boss' story" based upon when I heard it was set in the 60s.

The only MGS game I've played was METAL GEAR SOLID: THE TWIN SNAKES (I only have a game cube) but it was ...fuck-ing... SWEET.

I read some spoiler lists about MGS2 and it sounded very gay. You start off as snake but then Rayden (no snake) and then the whole thing turns out to be a VR simulation that was controled by super-intelligent paint chips who live in the White House? WTF?

I only rented MGS: 2 snakes for 3 days but, fuck, it was an AWESOME 3 days and I beat it on super-easy. The story and the cutscenes and the voice acting was all flat out amazing.

I wish I could play this game.

So is the Snake in this game the same Snake in MGS2? I've only played that one game. Well I rented the PS1 version years ago but it was too hard and I gave up right away.

Those trailers were just bizarre. The words that would flash made no sense. And none of the scenes looked like in-game scenes, the way they would switch perspectives and show something from another angle and then go back. Like in a movie.

This *is* Big Boss' story. Its kinda confusing lol

In the game you play as Snake (later nicknamed Naked Snake because he has to find weapons and items on site) who's real name is Jack. This game tells the story about how he becomes the biggest bad-ass alive, Big Boss. He looks and sounds exactly like Solid Snake because Solid and Liquid are clones of Big Boss.

The newest video shows "The Boss" who kicks Snake's ass. He rips off her headband, and the trademark look is born lol

since most of the game is fighting and killing to eat and survive, one of the animals you can take down is a crocodile.

the newest video is sweet, I was worried someone else who do Snake's voice. It sucks that Revolver Ocelot has a new voice, but it makes sense. In the last 2 games he was in his 50's, hence the gritty voice. In this game he is just shy of 19.

Okay I don't really know the whole backstory of the Metal Gear thing but the clones thing makes sense. Even just playing MGS2 not much of the story made sense. But whatever, it's a cool game. Is Big Boss in MGS2?

A militant nation Outer Heaven was working on a top-secret weapon. Special Unit FOXHOUND Commander Big Boss sends his top soldier, Grey Fox in to find out what's what. Grey Fox discovers the weapon, Metal Gear, a walking nuclear tank.

Grey Fox gets captured. Big Boss sends in rookie Solid Snake to rescue Fox and take down Metal Gear.

Snake rescues Fox, takes down Metal Gear and destroys Outer Heaven.

It is revealed that Big Boss is also the commander of Outer Heaven. Solid Snake kicks his ass, and Big Boss escapes to the east.


1999 (metal gear 2: solid snake for the NES)
A military republic, Zanzibar Land, deep in the Middle East has kidnapped Dr. Kio Marv, the founder of OILIX, which can rectify high-quality oil.

FOXHOUND sends in Solid Snake - he infiltrates Zanzibar Land and finds Dr. Kio Marv. Marv dies, and it is revealed that Gray Fox is a mercenary for Zanzibar Land, Big Boss is the commander, and a new improved Metal Gear model is already active.

Solid Snake kicks ass and takes names - he kills Grey Fox, destroys Metal Gear and Zanzibar Land, and kills Big Boss. (before Big Boss dies, he tells Snake that he is his "father")


2005 (metal gear solid, metal gear solid:the twin snakes)

Terrorists consisting of members of FOXHOUND haven taken over the nuclear disposal facility at Shadow Moses, Alaska. They want one thing: the remains of Big Boss.

Colonel Roy Campbell (same as the "colonel" in MGS2) brings Solid Snake out of retirement to kick some ass and GIT R DUN.

It is revealed that the leader of the terrorists is Liquid Snake, Solid Snake's "brother". They were part of the "Les Enfants Terrible" program - designed to make clones of the perfect soldier, Big Boss.

Solid meets up with this chick Meryl, fights some wacky bosses,meets this robotic Ninja during a fight with Revolver Ocelot. The Ninja chops off Ocelot's hand. The Ninja turns out to be Grey Fox from the first 2 Metal Gear games. Grey Fox (the Ninja) redeems himself by helping Snake destroy Metal Gear. Grey Fox dies. Solid Snake kills Liquid. Solid and his buddy Octacon go into hiding.

2007 (metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty)
this is where things get fucked up. Solid sneaks into a tanker to get info on a rumored new Metal Gear. Revolver Ocelot shows, and he has a new arm - which used to be Liquid Snake's. Somehow the nanomachines or whatever interact when Solid is near and Liquid comes alive. Shit goes down, the tanker sinks and creates a big oil spill.

2009(metal gear solid 2: sons of libery)
You are super pussy Raiden sent into the Big Shell cleanup facility to rescue the president. The terrorist group called the Sons of Liberty has his hostage. The leader of the group is "Solid Snake". We find out that its really Solidus Snake, a third clone of Big Boss who used to be the president of the united states under the name George Sears. (you can hear him talking at the end of MGS1)

Long story short, Solid Snake is also there getting to the bottom of things. The whole Tanker being sunk and oil spill were really just a big ruse for the Shell being built, which is really one huge Metal Gear.

Revolver Ocelot and "The Patriots" (a hidden group that has contolled every aspect of our government since 1776) set up the terroists and everything to be an exact replica of the Shadow Moses incident (MGS1, the twin snakes) to create a VR program that will form the perfect soldier. Revolver Ocelot gets away in a metal gear, Raiden kills Solidus Snake, and Solid goes back into hiding.
