5 speed transmissions

i just can't get it. it makes me want to cry. I'm an excellent driver and it kills me that I can't do it. I love my new car but I cant drive the fucker. GODDAMNIT!!

tomorrow's my birthday.

I'll get the hang of a stick, I've only had it for a day and was able to go to school and back, and pick up a pizza but not without some trouble.

I hate having to learn to drive again.

aah, I hated my manual 5 speed too when I got my first car. Just stick with it, you'll love it after awhile. Loved it so much when I bought my new firebird a few months back I made sure it was a stick shift.

Anyhoo, my first car is/will be (2 months from now... it's sitting in my driveway collecting dust) a stickshift. I don't have too many problems with it, primarily getting going in 1st and getting down my long driveway.

jesus christ you are one dumb shit. a car with an automatic transmission is more expensive because an automatic transmission is actually an extra piece of complicated (much more complicated than a simple stick & clutch) equipment for the car that changes the gears for you. better mileage is an added bonus with a manual. besides what if you were right? a dealer would price a manual transmission car cheaper than an automatic because it gets better mileage? wouldn't that be backwards? a dealer would want to charge more for a car that gets better mileage. wow. just wow. idiot.

i never got it why people can't cope with stick shifts....of course, it could be, because we here in europe actually have to learn how to drive in order to get a drivers license.....

I'd like to know what's the fun of not really controling a car a rellying on an automatic system that cant predict situations, live reving up a low gear before climbing. Oh yeah... forgot you all have big fat underpowered engines with lots of torque at low rev. Eat my honda's 8000 rpm!

I miss my standard

My first car was a standard... and now my second is an automatic... I wish my Saturn had been a standard like my vw... they're so much more more fun to drive. I feel so lazy without having to shift gears.
