Unhappy walking around your old high school is depressing

I had a wander around my old one earlier today. a dreary winter afternoon and noone around. I hadn't set foot in the place since graduating in '99. it's weird looking around and noticing that everything just moves on in its own way, and your time there as a student for so many years is nothing but a wispy memory that means nothing now. but maybe its worth it just for the memories alone, because apart from that it all seems pointless now

Our lovemaking will be rife with hushed elegiac tones and musings on the transience of innocence. Until the felching begins, and then it's YUM YUM FUN!!

it's a well known fact that wandering your old highschool is the epitome of emo activity.

i went to a reunion of my high school last winter. I was quite excited about seeing old friends i hadn't seen in four years, talking to teacher, seeing the building again etc.

Turned out to be a major disappointment. Teachers were still as boring as they were, the building made me all nostalgic, and these old friends turned out to be not that interesting anymore....

We had a reunion just a few monts after graduation. Nothing special really, but what do you expect after a few months .

A few months ago I went to a old part of my highschool, called 'the Barracks'. They really looked like rotten Barracks. But one moment It brought back memories of the great time I spend there

i felt the same what strange_one said. we spent years of our life being there, 90% from the people I knew (and a small part that I still know), i got to know there, and now it's just an empty school with maybe 1 or 2 people that might remember you. what's it all worth!

The same thing here about spending time with people from highschool. I never spend time with the people I knew from highschool. But who cares? I've had a great time with them at that moment and that's what I remember. And what I feel good about when I think of these days.

Thumbs down

I'm glad I went to the sort of high school that will never have a reunion and that I will not go back and visit.

A few years ago i was showing my sister around my old highschool so she would know where to go when she started in the fall. I completely understand what you mean - i get a strong sense of deja vu going back - like going back to an old set of a play or somthing. I also get this feeling when i go visit my parent's house. Its weird - going back to the mid 90's all over again after being away for so long when nothing yet everything has changed.

i want nothing to do with shitclair. i've only been out for 2.5 years and it feels like SO much longer. wouldn't mind seeing my favourite teacher.. i still do owe him a coffee. i think i'll show up in another 2.5 years and give it to him if he's still there. he won't mind if it's 5 years late.

The other day I got this link, www.schoolbank.nl

That brought back some memories, it was fun to read those little stories some people leave and to find out what some of the people I went to school with went to do after it. It got me al nostalgic.

I wonder if I ever get to go to a reunion of those schools, probably not I guess.

I went to the same high school as my mom. I had to sit through years of 'Oh my god it's changed so much!'
