I went to the bookstore and bought the following:
Gravity's Rainbow - Thomas Pynchon The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold White Noise - Don DeLillo Me Talk Pretty One Day - David Sedaris One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez Mr. Rhino, don't fret, I plan on getting your furiously recommended The Corrections - Jonathan Franzen, but I wanted to reserve a book to order along with Blinking With Fists on Amazon to get the $25 limit for free shipping. It's not like I can read super fast, so have no fears, I'll check that one out too. ---- Any suggestions on where to start? |

Me Talk Pretty One Day. It's funny as hell and it's a great summer read, quick and not too much thinking involved

The Lovely Bones, because then you can follow it with the lighter stuff and a second trip to the bookstore to pick up Hard Laughter and the Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven.

the lovely bones is depressing.
you think it's going to be about the main character's life, but it's really about her family and how they cope. |
